High-achieving students were named to the Knox College Dean's List for the 2017 Winter Term.

The newest Carthaginians include 720 freshmen and 90 transfer students. They come from 23 U.S. states and five foreign countries: Canada, China, Japan, Kenya, and Serbia.

More than 100 Knox College student-athletes were named to the Midwest Conference's Academic All-Conference list for the 2016-17 academic year and athletic season. The criteria to become an Academic All-Conference selection includes a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.33, which is calculated only in the awarded academic year. First-year students, sophomores, juniors, and seniors who letter in any of the MWC's fall, winter or spring sports are eligible for the award. Several of the honorees were recognized for the academic achievements while playing more than one sport.

Each member school in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin selects student-athletes from each of the three sport seasons (fall, winter, spring) to be honored as Academic All-Conference members. To be eligible, an individual must have an overall grade point average of 3.30 or above and must have lettered in their respective sport for that season. These are the spring and winter sport recipients.

More than 3,000 students earned a spot on the Dean's List

High-achieving students were named to the Knox College Dean's List for the 2017 Spring Term.

Dean's List honors are earned by undergraduate students who carry 12 or more credit hours and achieve a 3.5 grade point average or higher on the 4.0 scale.

A total of 11,101 students enrolled during the 2017 spring semester at The University of Alabama were named to the Dean's List with an academic record of 3.5 (or above) or the President's List with an academic record of 4.0 (all A's). The UA Dean's and President's lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.

Miami University students who are ranked in the top twenty percent of undergraduate students within each division for second semester 2016-17 have been named to the dean's list recognizing academic excellence.

The University of Alabama awarded approximately 5,000 degrees during spring commencement May 5-7. More than 550 students graduated from Carthage College in December 2016, January 2017, or May 2017.

A total of 830 students have been named to the Carthage College Dean's List for the Spring 2017 semester.

Students in the Advanced Inquiry Program (AIP) earn master's degrees from Miami University through Project Dragonfly. The AIP is a groundbreaking master's degree that combines Miami web-based coursework with experiential learning and community engagement through zoos in Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Denver, New York, Phoenix, San Diego and Seattle.

More than $100,000 has been awarded to College of Education and Professional Studies' students

"An exciting season," said head coach Bosko Djurickovic. "Great credit to a resilient group of guys. As I said earlier, I have certainly coached more talented teams, but I don't know if I have ever had more fun with a team. When you win as many games as we have there is something that is right. These guys from one-to-twelve really did a good job all year long of picking each other up, making plays as they needed to be made."

"Biology and Geography of Nicaragua" provided a unique opportunity for students to experience clinical work or work on water projects.

"Biodiversity, Brains and Behavior" offered adventurous students the opportunity to study the ecology of a Caribbean coral reef ecosystem, learn about the evolution of nervous systems and behavior, and study Honduran culture.
